Who Do We Work With

Young people who are between 16-21 years of age. Particularly vulnerable individuals who are at potential risk of absconding, sexual exploitation, care leavers, young unaccompanied asylum seekers, young people with records of non-engagement in education as well as individuals with self-harming and offending behaviors.
PSL provides a young person-focused service. This is achieved by providing support to you and helping you to achieve better outcomes through education, training, and life skills that will enable you to live independently. PSL will help you to gain the skills necessary to prepare you for living independently. Skills like budgeting, CV writing, how to shop for food, search for employment and support you to achieve better outcomes through education, training, and health. Our emphasis is on supporting you to achieve the best possible outcomes through the provision of suitable accommodation and key work support.
You will be introduced to your key worker and your key work sessions will be arranged with you. These sessions will enable us to identify what you want to achieve and how we will support you in achieving these. Your Keyworker is the person whom you can go to with any problems or questions you might have. Your key worker will be the person who takes you shopping and arranges any meetings you might have to go to, including your review. Once you have moved all your belongings in and have unpacked, your key worker will make a list of the things you have brought with you and show you around. Once you have settled in we will have a placement meeting.
This is a meeting with your social worker and is an opportunity for you to tell us how you feel and what you want to gain from your time at PSL. These meetings are all about your care and what plans you have for the future so it’s really important that you come to these and have your say. The PSL team will make every effort to ensure that your time at PSL will be a positive one.
